Who are we?
The Macfarlane Trust exists to give help to people with haemophilia who have to cope with the effects of living with HIV infection, and to their families and dependents. During the late 1970s and early 1980s more than 1,200 people with haemophilia were infected with HIV through their clotting factor treatment. Since then, more than 800 of those people have died. For those who remain, and for the many widows and bereaved families left behind, life is a constant struggle.
