Welcome to the Macfarlane Trust website
Thank you for visiting

Who are we?

The Macfarlane Trust exists to give help to people with haemophilia who have to cope with the effects of living with HIV infection, and to their families and dependants. During the late 1970s and early 1980s more than 1,200 people with haemophilia were infected with HIV through their clotting factor treatment. Since then, more than 800 of those people have died. For those who remain, and for the many widows and bereaved families left behind, life is a constant struggle.

For more information on the history of haemophilia and HIV, please visit The Birchgrove Group's website.

Many of our members are unable to work or cannot work enough to maintain a regular income. The Trust's brief includes the assistance of its members both financially and in other ways. Within the exclusive members' pages of this site, the sections dealing with financial help from the Trust and with welfare benefits are especially important since they are intended to show all the income that can be received from these sources.

If you would like your login details for the members' pages, or if you are not registered with the Trust but are an interested party, please Contact us!
